Week 1 Post-HOH

I am both SHOCKED and APPALLED.

Allow me to explain:

Going into this HoH competition, I knew it was mostly luck. That's fine, I don't really want to win anyway because I don't want to make myself a target. Nonetheless, I was thinking through my list strategically: I listed every person who listed their AIM screen name in the "Check-In" page in reverse order, so that people who checked in first were at the bottom and people who checked in last or, alternatively, never checked in at all, were listed at the top. This seems fair, right? Other people might do this same thing, right?

Well, wrong. See, the other thing I liked about my list is that it put the only person that I've really spoken to, Eddie, at the bottom. We had a good chat the other day and I felt confident that I would be at the bottom of his list too.

THEN IN ROUND TWO HE NOMINATED ME AND I WAS EVICTED.

Well, I didn't take this too lightly. Hence the "shocked and appalled" mentioned above.

Nicole ended up winning and that's fine with me, she actually reached out to me before the competition started and we spoke briefly, but I still couldn't get over this supposed betrayal from Eddie. My dilemma was whether or not to talk to him about it. But this is Big Brother, and it's week one. So let's chat with him.

After very gently confronting him, I found that he put me at the top of the list so that I purposefully wouldn't win HoH, as in the past 14 seasons of BBRecycled, no one has ever won the first HoH and the game. So. Maybe I'm not so mad. I still do think I can trust him and unless something shady like this happens again, I'll let it go.

I'm currently working on making sure I speak to everyone else. Not too worried about nominations, but then again maybe I should be. We'll see what happens!
